Qualified Charitable Distributions From Retirement Accounts. Or click here to read
Did you know .... that if you are 72 years old, you are required to take money from your Traditional IRA. You can do it as a Qualified Disbursement to Mt Bethel Church. If funds are sent directly from the financial institution to Mt Bethel Church, it becomes tax-exempt. One of our givers recently said they saved several hundred dollars on their tax bill. Example. If you take out $1000, minus tax, you may get ~$800 in your checking account. If you take out $1000, tax exempt, and have it sent to Mt Bethel Church, it will be $1000. It’s a good way to optimize your funds and meet your planned Church giving. This can be done monthly, quarterly or yearly. Talk to your financial advisor. Edward Jones told our FInance Chair “It’s usually a good deal for you, it’s never worse.”

Living well, dying well, loving well: Advance Care Planning (ACP) is a process that helps you think about, talk about, and write down your choices for future health care decisions. While it's not an easy topic to consider, it is important for every adult to have a Health Care Directive - a written plan for loved ones and health care providers to follow - so that your wishes are known if a time comes when you cannot speak for yourself.
