October - December on Monday mornings... gathering together, to learn, and uplift one another as we embark together on an incredible journey through "He Chose the Nails."
A meaningful journey, exploring the depths of grace and the profound sacrifice symbolized by the nails of the cross. Max Lucado's powerful words and insight ignite and enrich discussions and foster a deeper connection with our faith and one another in faith. |
December 2023. Once a month, The Worship Team gathers and organize the worship services together. December's meeting was at McDonald's. In the restaurant, for picking up the songs, we sang the songs occasionally. As we sang Christmas songs at the restaurant, we didn’t pay attention to others. All of sudden, one lady came to us and made a big smile and said to us, “I love you guys!” Literally, she loved to hear the songs. It was our first time having a meeting outside of the church, and I felt that we went out to the community and spread the wonderful spirit of joy through the songs. Songs about joy to the world, the birth of Christ, Mary's song, and so on.
When winter weather occurs resulting in dangerous conditions for Sunday morning in person Worship ...

On Sunday, November 5th, 2023, All Saints Sunday Mt Bethel Church remembered.
We remembered those lost in the previous year as a way of honoring the impact their lives have had on us. We lit candles, rang remembrance bells, and called out the names of Vaughn Winter, Judy Woods, Deloris Hammer and Bill Brausen honoring their saintly impact on so many. After worship, we came together for fellowship time with coffee & cookies as we rested in the goodness of memories and share stories. Remembering members of Mt Bethel Church Vaughn Winter, June 4, 1930 ~ November 26, 2022 Judy Woods September 21, 1946 ~ January 18, 2023 Deloris Hammer May 10, ~ February 15, 2023 Bill Brausen January 3, 1951 ~ April 25, 2023 |

October 12, 2023 In response to the recent conflict in Israel and the Gaza Strip, Bishop Lanette Plambeck shares with us a heartfelt pastoral letter. She urges us all to: a) learn about the ongoing situation, b) pray for all those affected, c) reaffirm our commitment to nonviolent responses, & d) champion the inclusion of all voices in the pursuit of peace.

🔥🔥October is Fire Prevention Month🔥🔥 This important awareness was established in 1922 by the NFPA (National Fire Protection Association). Its purpose is to raise awareness about the risks of fire-related incidents and to educate both adults and children on how to stay safe in the event of a fire. Fire Prevention Week, observed during the week of October 9th, coincides with the anniversary of the Great Chicago Fire of 1871.
Mt Bethel leadership invites you to engage in conversations throughout the month of October about fire safety in our homes and our place of worship. Let's learn together what to do in case of smoke or fire emergencies to keep ourselves and our loved ones safe. Let us all stay fire-safe this October and beyond! 🔥🚒🏠
Also remembering our "Rescue Rudy" Wegner IGH FIre Chief and in recognition of Dick Larson's many years as State Fire Marshal, 🔥🚒🏠
🔥🚒10/19/2023 Thursday IGH Fire Inspector Derek McNamara spoke to 13 of us; sharing fire safety protips and answering our questions. We even had a fire drill coordinated with Dakota County 911 dispatch. 🔥🚒.

This means that every donation you make will be matched, amplifying the impact of your generosity to the ministry(s) of: Neighbors Inc, UMCOR/United Methodist Committee on Relief, Feed My Starving Children &/or Heifer International. Local, national and global outreach giving will serve as the "hands and feet of Jesus" in our community, across the nation, and around the world. Relay for Life 2023 - Team Mt Bethel, Saturday, August 5, 4-10pm
at Lincoln Center track in South St Paul.
In our journey of Legacy Ministry and remembering the Mt Bethel Church impact of ministry to our community... In the 2000’s Mt Bethel Church was a host site for a cancer support group ‘Christians Coping With Cancer’ made up of cancer survivors, persons with cancer and caregivers. Annually the group participated in the American Cancer Society, Relay For Life.
Relay for Life unites our local communities: Inver Grove Heights, South St Paul & West St Paul. We celebrate people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and take action for lifesaving change.
We all have our own reason for joining Relay For Life, we will take down cancer because we are in it together. Our 2023 Mt Bethel Relay For Life Team is fundraising for the American Cancer Society's support service and lifesaving research. Believe us, every dollar really does count, so we're asking for your help. Please donate by creating a Luminary(s) or join our team the evening of August 5th, because together we can end cancer.
The 2023 Relay celebration took place Saturday, August 5th 4-10pm around the track of Lincoln Elementary School.
Mt Bethel attendees were invited to spend the evening with us, time frame 4-10pm. Come for an hour, stay longer too.
At 4pm the Relay opened with a survivor celebration, where survivors are honored while they take the first lap. After the first lap, all were invited to walk or bring a chair and visit.
At dusk (8:15p) the Luminaria Ceremony. This powerful ceremony is a time to remember loved ones lost and to honor those whose fight continues. A silent lap is taken around the track with a bagpiper playing & drum cadence.
Come for an hour or stay longer, visit with others, &/or stroll the track.
Food..... 3 local food trucks participated in the evening too; K-Town food truck, Sabrosos food truck and Ernie's Ice Cream
Luminary bags were available in the Fellowship hall for decorating with a name(s) of loved ones. A suggested $10 donation.
You can give online or Sunday offering basket: writing a check, make payable to Mt Bethel Church designate/memo Relay for Life. Or cash/note that says Relay for Life. Team Captains: Judy Ak, Mary A & Polly.

Special Note: No Night to Unite 2023 – Tuesday, August 1:
After thoughtful considerations, this year, Mt Bethel regrettably is not hosting the neighborhood's Night to Unite gathering.
At this time, the church does not have the physical people power-endurance to Host the neighborhood’s gathering.

The Mt Bethel garden is producing.... filled with vegetables; tomatoes, cucumbers, zucchini, pumpkins, rhubarb and wildflowers too.
Our dear Sherry Z has been taking care of the garden. She loves to feel the dirt and the sunshine feeling God’s presence and healing through it. She pulled out the weeds and planted vegetables. She comes to the church almost every day and gives the water. Also, she is bringing these vegetables to the church each Sunday so people can take the harvest. We deeply appreciate her diligent work.
Our beautiful garden will remain as one of Mt Bethel’s good legacies as well.

You are the light of the world. A city on top of a hill can’t be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a basket. Instead, they put it on top of a lampstand, and it shines on all who are in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before people, so they can see the good things you do and praise your Father who is in heaven. Matthew 5: 14-16

Mt Bethel's Deloris H has crocheted scarfs for every kid in her neighborhood. Who is next? She has now enough scarfs for a classroom at Hilltop Elm. Deloris is pictured with the school nurse and social worker when she and Pastor Dave dropped off the scarfs. Word is the Early Childhood-Pre-school Program at Hilltop Elm needs scarfs. Deloris has begun crochetting for them.
If you have extra yarn and would like to pass it along to Deloris H, she is accepting donations for her crochet ministry for our Mt Bethel Church's neighborhood kids at Hilltop Elementary. Your yarn donations can be dropped off at church. Deloris' yarn preference is Red Heart Super Saver. Want to join Deloris in this project of warming the necks of neighborhood kids, she'd love to tell you about this ministry on Sunday mornings.

DO NOT REPLY to the text message. It is not coming from any number associated with the church. The aim of these hackers is to get you to reply to the text or email and engage with them in order to access your fund$ or private information.
Please be assured that: Mt Bethel Church or leadership/Pastor do not solicit donations or other assistance in this manner. Your best defense is to be alert to communications that seem out of character or unusual in nature.
The best way to protect yourself against possible identity theft or fraud is to be alert to texts or emails that just don’t seem “right” and simply press DELETE. DO NOT RESPOND.
Thanks again for your understanding and vigilance in being on the lookout and helping deter this kind of fraud.

Mt Bethel church has a history of supporting the B.E.S.T. Foundation's mission of raising funds and awarding post-secondary scholarships to Simley graduates. Clearly B.E.S.T. would not have a 30+ year impact in Inver Grove without the generosity and continued support of individuals, families, businesses and organizations to the Foundation's mission.
The B.E.S.T. Foundation is grateful for Mt Bethel members' support and blessed that youth who grew up in Mt Bethel Church are recipients of scholarships. Mt Bethel members have also served in the leadership as a Board of Director: Millie McAdams, Jill Lewis, Don Roberts, Rose Sterret, Cheryl Paine, Ellen Bomstad & Polly Tabbert to name a few. For your review the B.E.S.T. Foundation's 2022 Annual Report.
