Fall of 2020, Mt Bethel leadership determined that we needed to sunset the vegetable garden due to the the physical capacity of those who cared for the garden. Wild flowers were planted to support our bee pollinators.

The church garden is buzzing with "Support". Many bumblebees and two butterflies seen too this morning. With prayer support too, 11 pounds of veggies was delivered to Neighbors Inc food shelf on July 19th and 9 pounds on July 22nd.

June 13, 2019 This week the word went out that we needed tomato cages...and within 24 hours we had all the (used) cages we could use!! We were also able to cage the peppers and other veggies!
The plants are caged....but now we need about 50 strong 3-4’ stakes to secure the cages. If you have good solid stakes that you are not using that are just lying around your garage...let us know or just bring them to church and put them down by the garden or outside the back of church leading to the garden. When the veggies start coming in we will need sturdy cages and stakes to keep them off the ground! Lastly, we have a pile of old metal tomato cages that need to be brought to metal recycling. If you can help, please pick them up by the shed by the day care playground. Thanks!! Working as a Team to Grow the Garden!! Co-Captains - Dave & Deb |
